Holiday Cocktails
Classic Holiday Eggnog
Ingredients:
2 cups of milk
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, and more for garnish
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
6 large egg yolks
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 cup bourbon or rum
Whipped cream for garnish
Directions:
In a small saucepan over low heat combine milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Slowly bring mixture to a low boil
In a large bowl, whisk egg yolks with sugar until yolks are pale in color. Slowly add hot milk mixture to egg yolks in batches to temper the eggs and whisk until combined
Return mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat until slightly thick but does not boil. It should reach approximately 160 degrees.
Remove from heat and stir in heavy cream and bourbon or rum. Refrigerate until chilled.
When ready to serve, garnish with whipped cream and cinnamon.
Cranberry Moscow Mule
Ingredients:
Cranberry Juice
Lime Juice
Ginger Beer
Vodka
Cinnamon Sticks
Sugar
Directions:
In a small saucepan, stir together sugar and water, then add a cinnamon stick and bring to a boil for 4-5 minutes. Turn off the heat and let the simple syrup sit for 30 minutes.
In a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice, add vodka, cranberry juice, and cinnamon simple syrup.
Shake well and pour into a glass filled with ice, then top with 2-3 oz. of ginger beer. Top with a freshly squeezed lime slice.
Blood Orange, Sage, and Ginger Margaritas
Ingredients:
12 oz. fresh blood orange juice
1 oz. lime juice
2 oz. sage and ginger simple syrup
6 oz. tequila
4 oz. Triple Sec
Salt and lime for garnish
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail mixing glass or pitcher and stir to combine
Strain into prepared glasses filled with crushed ice.
Garnish the rim with salt and lime. Add blood orange slices and sage to the glass.
